Introductory Text: Thank you for your willingness to participate in this new program designed to create more awareness for parents. This first text is linked to a survey that you will receive a $25 gift card for completing.   1. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be submitted by March 2nd in order to be considered for Cal Grant, which is the State of California’s financial aid grant. Complete your FAFSA here: fafsa.gov. See Chapter 10, starting on page 179, to read more about the different types of Financial Aid available.
  2. College Admission and Financial Aid offices will be communicating to your student through portal Accounts that your student needs to set up. Any additional paperwork needed for Financial Aid or Admissions will be sent through these portal accounts. Your student’s Financial Aid Award Letter will also be posted in these portal accounts. See page 274 for a checklist to make sure you are staying on track.
